My Weekend

As you read this I am either riding through the desert on a horse with no name or going over the river and through the woods. Anyway, I’m making the nearly 520 mile trek across Oregon’s “outback”, the Cascades, and on to my parent’s house.

Tomorrow I’ll be on the back of a raft, piloting my craft through the white water of the Rogue River. The annual rafting trip is by far my favorite family tradition.

Since when my nephew got to talk for the first time (with the aid of an eyegaze computer) a few months ago he shared with those around him that his favorite thing was being read to, I’m bringing with me some books I got from my grand parent’s estate last year. I can’t wait to share There’s a Wocket in My Pocket by Dr. Seuss, The Bear Scouts by Stan and Jan Berenstain, and I Wish that I had Duck Feet by Theo. LeSeig with the little guy.

Don’t worry, I have blog posts scheduled for each day that I’m away.

  1. Dude I'm fucking stoked you finally got to talk to him!

  2. I haven't heard him use it yet. So far my sister is the only one who has. But he has it and I'm going to try to set it up.

  3. I was wrong, it was set up and he told me he wanted to read! Once my excitement calmed down I got out the books I brought and read to him.
