Today is Charles Darwin’s 202nd Birthday!

So let’s all take a moment to reflect on the wonders of evolution by means of natural selection and how that has made us into the kind of beings that can apply deduction to ascertaining our origins.

In other news, Rep. Pete Stark has introduced H. RES. 81, a bill that would designate February 12 as Darwin Day, but would do nothing tangible to promote science or education.

The 112th Congress is full of pointless gestures. Let’s hope they can figure out how to actually make laws.
