Conventional thinking would suggest that you should watch what you say and speak softly because you don’t know who might be listening, but I’d argue that a lot of the time the opposite is true. Shortly after I got my allergy shot today, actually while the nurse was rubbing anti-itch cream on my arms, we were talking about my upcoming trip to DC, and when she asked what the name of the rally I was going to was, I answered. Another patient, here with her young daughter had just stopped in at the counter and heard that.
She was quite curios about what that was, so I explained it. By the time we were done talking, she seemed so relieved to finally know there were other atheists in the area. She asked if I had a card, which I currently don’t but I did give her the URL for the blog, so if you’re reading this welcome! You are most certainly not alone in Boise.

Hi there…it’s me, the nosey woman from the allergist’s office! If I were a God fearing woman, I would say that divine providence meant for me to overhear your conversation. As it is, however, I do happen to believe that there are no ‘coincidences’, and that things DO happen for a reason. So happy I ran into you, and we (whole family) are excited to get involved! Keep up the good work!

I do believe in coincidences and love them.
