Theists derive their entire moral code, not from a well thought out philosophy based on principle but from what is said in their holy book which is usually immoral. Most theist’s deny the right of self ownership. This is the basis of the rights that Jefferson was thinking of when he said that the rights of mankind are self evident. This is something intrinsic to humanity that is external to god which is unrecognized by the religious which leads to huge flaws in thinking about rights, equality and morality.
