One of my professors in the seminary used this argument in the “Issues and Origins” class. This was after the class had already convinced me of the truth of evolution, in spite of that being the opposite of its intended purpose. Before I finally called it quits, I tore apart the sacrificial atonement from another angle, but this line of thinking certainly weakened my hope that my faith would ever come back.

Obviously it didn’t.
