On December 15, 1933 the 21st Amendment to the US Constitution went into effect. That’s the Amendment that repealed the prohibition of alcohol. One thing that’s kind of surprising, the state who’s ratification on December 5, 1933 that finally made it official was Utah…who would have thought…

Anyway, FDR put it best before signing the legislation when he said, “I think this would be a good time for a beer.”
