It’s a balancing act

What I’ve found in officiating three weddings now, is that it’s a balancing act. If I’m doing it, its because someone specifically wants a secular wedding, but they also don’t want to offend any religious family members. So what you end up having is a balancing act. You can even maintain a lot of the traditional stuff without having the use all the horrific traditional religious baggage. So far I’m seeing that the end result ends up being quite beautiful and people, including religious family members, seem to like it.

Now, I just need to stop giving everybody the “friends and family” discount.
