Lighthouses > Churches – Conversions & Apologies

Painful to Read
Venette Ovilde, AKA Krisla Rezireksyon (pronounced douchebag ‘resurrection’) and her roommate Myriam Janvier have plead not guilty in a New Jersey court. To what, you ask? The pair of Haitian immigrants are charged with murder and multiple charges of abuse, endangerment, and neglect of Venette’s 3 children.

Christiana Glenn was 8 years old when she died from complications due to her broken femur and starvation. Her children had been starved over a period of at least 7 months and all three had broken bones. The prosecutor said that when the children were not tied to a radiator inside the house, the women would force the children to kneel on salt while balancing heavy items on their heads.

Relatives say that Ovilde and Janvier changed a lot after their conversion to “Walking with Christ” faith – taught by another Haitian, Pastor Emanyel Rezireksyon-Kris.

I’ve always believed that good people do good things. Bad people do bad things. But, to get a good person to do bad things, takes religion. This situation seems to be no different. Granted, I do not know how good of a mother Venette was before her conversion, but reports tell of the children being allowed to play outside and have fun…

After the women converted, the women cut ties with all their family and friends, Kris also told them to fast, get rid of all of their belongings, dress everyone in white cloth, and lay white cloth on the floors. This seems to be the time when the child torture began. Division of Youth and Family Services were called in soon after the conversion, but they did not find big enough problems to warrant continued checkups.

I wholeheartedly agree these women need to be on trial. I also feel their Pastor needs to be charged as well. I can’t even type straight – this pisses me off that much. String them up by their toes.

It Was All God’s Plan
That is what George Zimmerman told Sean Hannity last night (7-18-12). During the interview, George was asked if he had any regrets. George did not skip a beat, replying: “I feel that it was all God’s plan, and for me to second guess it or judge it…” he paused to shake his head.

After all, why would anyone question god? Why should Zimmerman take responsibility for his actions? Why scapegoat this whole issue onto his invisible friend? Why indeed.

I can think of a few years worth of reasons to say Jesus was my gunman. Granted, that ain’t kewl to sell your homie out to the cops, but I don’t think God, Jesus, or that spirit guy will be testifying against George any time soon.

In a reality TV show twist, Fox & Friends had Trayvon’s parents on this morning to comment. Travon’s father Tracy had a few choice words, saying: “I don’t understand what he was thinking by saying it was God’s plan that he murdered our child. I really don’t understand what God he worships because it’s not the same God that I worship.” Travon’s mother Sabrina went on to say: “Why would God have him kill an unarmed teenager? It makes no sense.”

I will not say how guilty I think Zimmerman is, but I do think that the attributes George, Tracy, and Sabrina give to their Christian god need to be challenged. I honestly think nonbelievers deal with death better than believers. Just got reminded of that when my grandma died recently. I loved her in that family way. I gotta be honest. If anyone was not heading to heaven, it would be her. It’s nice to know she is not being tortured forever.

It is sad that Travon died / was killed. It is also sad that his parents cannot see the many genocides that God carried out himself. You don’t even need to include the ones in the Bible that were carried out in his name to realize that God is a dick.

Zimmerman – charged with second-degree murder – is free on bond (and in hiding) in Florida as he awaits his court date.

Forever Ain’t that long
Isaiah 40:8 ~ The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

I think everyone can see that there are at least a couple errors in the Bible. My own KJV Bible has held up remarkably well over the years… Well, the binding, pages, and such. Scripturally, it should look more like some ancient Egyptian, moth eaten scroll.
