I take care of the radio advertising at work and received an interesting email from our radio guy yesterday. He let me know that due to a number of national advertising cancellations recently they have open slots on Rush Limbaugh’s program that they’ll sell for less than half price. He’s confident they’ll go fast and to be honest I don’t doubt that considering how conservative this area is, but I passed on the opportunity.
Without going into the fact that I wouldn’t touch Rush or his advertising with a 10 foot poll, I simply told him that we didn’t want to get involved in politics. If I get challenged on this by the higher ups I will stand by my statement, but also point out that hisĀ audienceĀ isn’t really the demographic we’re trying to reach.
