I had my first round of allergy shots on Friday and the nurse explained to me how it works. Due to how many allergies I have there are two sets of vials. One contains grasses and most trees, the other contains the rest of the trees, weeds, and mites. Within each set there are three color coded vials of differing dilution: 1:1000, 1:100, and 1:1.
The injection schedule starts with the lowest concentration at the very small dose of 0.005ml, before moving to the next higher concentration I’ll be up to a dose of 0.5ml. When I get to move to the next vials I’ll move back to the very small doses and start ramping up again. Once I have reached the 0.5ml dose at a 1:1 concentration I’ll be able to graduate to the maintenance doses and should be symptom free.
It’s natural (not that I care), effective, treats the actual cause of the allergies, and uses dilution the right way, to make it weaker when needed.
